３１日午前２時２０分ごろ、東京都中央区勝どき３の１０階建てマンション「ヴェラハイツ勝どき」６階のフリーライター、川勝正幸さん（５５）方から出火し、約６０平方メートルのうち約１５平方メートルを焼いた。室内から川勝さんが救出されたが、間もなく死亡した。警視庁月島署は室内から出火したとみて調べている。

　月島署によると、川勝さんは１人暮らし。ベッド周辺の燃え方が激しかったという。川勝さんはサブカルチャーに関する著作を発表していた。
